Get a taste of my collected works for The Dish Magazine—Lidl’s own publication featuring recipes, tips, and spoonfuls of culinary inspiration. I was not only a major contributor of copy for this publication, but assisted in various pre and post production responsibilities.

The Dish at a glance:

  • made for both print and digital format

  • published seasonally every 4 - 9 weeks

  • received up to 1.4 million impressions per magazine between digital views and in-store circulation

  • brought in over 1 million dollars per year in vendor funding via advertisements and supplier stories

my role:

As the sole copywriter assigned to assist the senior copywriter in the charge of the magazine my role included the following:

  • created and planned a unique story line for each magazine which included seasonal aspects, current recipe trends, and unique promotional products

  • collaborated with the sales, promotions, buying, and vendor funding teams to create a detailed magazine flatplan

  • participated in many meetings with various team members as part of the planning and pre-production process

  • contributed a majority of the content and edited supplemental content submitted by other copywriters to fit our voice

  • worked alongside the design team to edit content based on their needs

  • completed three detailed edits during the process to ensure each page was mistake free

  • marketed the finished magazine via in-store signage and announcements, paid display ads, and organic social posts
